What is the main goal of BoxGiver?

At BoxGiver, our main goal is to reduce packaging waste throughout the world. We invite people from all over the globe to re-purpose their cardboard and other moving supplies and packaging and mailing materials through our online exchange program that maximizes the life of these materials and reduces their environmental impact on both land and sea.

How does BoxGiver work?

Users sign up to use the BoxGiver site. It’s free to sign up. BoxGiver users can be either Buyers or Sellers of moving supplies and other packaging and mailing materials. If a Seller has materials he or she no longer needs but doesn’t want to simply throw them away, which we discourage on environmental principles, he or she lists them for free or for sale here on our BoxGiver.com website. Other BoxGiver users who need materials can see what’s available and decide to either pay for priced materials or take advantage of free materials, depending on what he or she needs and on what quality he or she sees in the listings. BoxGiver users can sometimes be a Seller and sometimes be a Buyer, depending on his or her needs. Sellers and Buyers on BoxGiver.com can be individuals or companies. So you can see that BoxGiver makes it possible for getting quality moving supplies or packaging and mailing materials at unbeatable prices. 

What moving supplies can I find on BoxGiver.com?

Some moving supplies are offered by Sellers free of charge and some are offered for sale. BoxGiver.com provides a marketplace, an exchange, for Buyers to get the following moving supplies from Sellers who have listed them on the BoxGiver.com website:

  • Cardboard Boxes
  • Bubble Mailers
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Packing Paper
  • Packing Tape


I have materials or supplies that I want to give away or sell. How do I post a new listing?

Here’s how you can post a new listing.

  • First, create an account on BoxGiver.com by clicking on the Signup button located in the header of the BoxGiver.com website.
  • Then, click on the green-colored button in the upper-right corner to post a new listing. 
  • You’ll be redirected to a new window, where you can enter the details regarding your products and where you can add photos videos. 


Can I list used packing supplies such as cardboard boxes?

Yes, that’s the whole idea behind BoxGiver.com. Our main goal is to make an impact on the ecology of our world by reducing packaging waste. We encourage Sellers to list unwanted moving supplies and packaging and mailing materials so Buyers who need them can find them on BoxGiver.com. Therefore, Sellers, please list your used moving supplies and packaging and mailing materials. Be sure to include details regarding the condition of the supplies and materials. And don’t forget to display the price of each listed product or whether you are offering each for free. And feel free to include photos and videos so Buyers can see exactly what you are offering.

I need moving supplies or packing materials. How do I find what I need?

As a Buyer, you should look through the listings from Sellers to see what is available that might meet your needs. Be sure to check whether the materials the Seller is offering are free or are for sale. If you have questions, feel free to contact the Seller with any questions you have.

Are the supplies for sale or are they free? If they are for sale, how do I pay for them?

The BoxGiver Seller who has listed the supplies or materials decides what is for sale and what is free. His or her listing on the website will tell you which is which.

If something you request is free, the Seller will send it to you as soon as he can after he gets your order. We ask that Sellers respond to Buyers as soon as possible after an order is placed, but no longer than within seven days.

If something you request is for sale, you may pay the Seller with your PayPal account or you may use one of your nationally recognized credit or debit cards. The amount you will owe the Seller is the price of the material listed by the Seller, plus any shipping charges and taxes that apply, as described by the Seller on his listing.

How can I be sure that the Sellers and Buyers on BoxGiver.com are trustworthy?

To join BoxGiver, a user needs to create an account. Once we verify the information that Sellers and Buyers have provided to us when they create their accounts, we are in a position to guarantee that BoxGiver Sellers and Buyers are trustworthy parties.

If I need to contact the BoxGiver.com team, how do I do that?

You can get in touch with our team anytime by contacting us through the messagingt feature after you click on Contact Us on the website. Or use the live chat feature by clicking on the website’s chat bubble icon and leaving your message. Our team will get back to you as soon as possible. 


Payments

What payment modes are available at BoxGiver?

Sellers are instructed to accept a number of payment modes, such as Debit/Credit Card, Visa, American Express, and PayPal. 

When I will get paid?

As a Seller, you will receive your payment once the Buyer charges your sale to his PayPal account or credit or debit card. After the transaction is complete, don't forget to leave feedback for the Buyer!

How do I know whether my order has confirmed?

Once your order gets confirmed, our system will automatically send you a confirmation message at the given email address. 


Ordering

Can I leave feedback after the completion of the order?

Yes, once your order arrives and is completed, we encourage all Sellers to leave feedback for the Buyers about their orders. 

How long will it take to receive my order?

We tell Sellers to quickly arrange to have your order picked up from their location for delivery within seven days. Contact our support team if you’re facing any delay in the delivery. 

Do you have a minimum order?

Minimum order requirements, if any, are set by the Seller. Therefore, we advise Buyers to contact the Sellers about this before place an order. 

Can Sellers sell to individual consumers or just to companies?

Both individual consumers and companies can get the moving supplies and packaging and mailing materials from the BoxGiver.com marketplace. 

Do I have to place my order online?

Yes, all Buyers must place their orders online on our BoxGiver.com marketplace, but contact the Seller before you place your order to make sure that the supplies or materials you want to order are still in stock. 

Is your website secure?

Yes, our website is one hundred percent secure. We have a SSL certificate that encrypts sensitive information, provides authentication, and ensures trust. We accept only verified payment methods such as the major credit and debit cards and PayPal. 


Delivery

How much do you charge for shipping?

Shipping charges are variable depending upon the location and the weight of the product. Sellers’ listings are required to state how these charges will be calculated if they are included in the sales process.

How do I track my order?

Along with the confirmation email that we send you, we include the tracking ID as well. Use this tracking ID to check the progress of your delivery. 

Do you ship outside the United States?

Yes, as our marketplace has registered Sellers from all over the world. You can locate a Seller nearest to you. 


Products

How is packing paper made?

The manufacturing of packing paper involves converting wood into wood pulp and lignin, which comprises about one third of the mass of lignocellulose, the precursor to paper. Cellulose is a major structural component in wood. Unlike the manufacturing of other paper, packing paper is made up of unbleached pulp. 

Is packing paper bio-degradable?

Yes, packing paper is bio-degradable and can break down over time. You can bury packing paper directly into soil. 

Is corrugated packing the strongest way to build cardboard boxes?

Yes, absolutely. Corrugated packaging combines structural rigidity with cushioning qualities to protect contents from damage. One of the reasons it works so well is its basic construction, which uses a middle layer of fluting to absorb impact.

These flutes are little arches inserted between cardboard’s inner and outer layers, and they enable corrugated packaging to resist bending and pressure from all directions.  

These flutes form rigid columns, capable of supporting a great deal of weight while cushioning the container’s contents. The flutes also serve as insulators, providing some product protection from sudden temperature changes. Corrugated packaging’s cushioning quality is matched by its stacking strength, preventing damage in transit.

Can I trash leftover bubble wrap?

Since bubble wrap isn’t garbage, it is recyclable. We want to encourage Sellers with available bubble wrap to offer it for re-use on BoxGiver to Buyers looking for good second-hand mailing and packing materials. If it is in good condition, you can send used bubble wrap to local mailing or shipping businesses for their re-use

The U.S. Postal Service accepts bubble mailers and they even use bubble mailers while shipping the products/items.
